Writing Content for Search Engine Optimization
Once the most targeted keywords have been determined for the most advantageous search engine optimization – the next step is to either write content based on those keywords or “tweak” the existing page content to include those keywords.
Writing for search engine optimization is different than writing for offline marketing. Search engines cannot “see” images that can describe, enhance or explain the copy for your pages. The content of your pages is the most critical part of your search engine optimization. The content must make sense to the visitor and the search engine.
In our search engine optimization plans we only ever optimize each page for one to three main keyword phrases. If it makes sense within the copy, we include your phrases more often. We always recommend that a page, optimized for the search engines have a minimum of 250 words because:
- The search engine spiders love content.
- With this much content they know what the page is about and determine how to rank the page.
- If you only have a small amount of content on a page and still use a lot of keywords – you may get penalized for spamming.
